The Calgary Flames announced on Thursday that Hunter Smith has signed an entry-level contract with the club.

During the 2015 regular season, the 6’7 right winger finished fourth on his team in goals netting a career high 23 in addition to 26 assists for 49 points and a team high 122 penalty minutes which was eleventh amongst OHL players. The Windsor, ON native added 18 points (9 goals, 9 assists) in the 2015 playoffs.

Smith was selected in the second round 54th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He spent one season with the Windsor Spitfires before joining the Generals for the 2012-13 season, where he has become a key leader on the team.
