Job Title:                 In-Arena Host

As part of the Game Presentation team, the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club In-Arena host is an integral part of the game night experience. Attending all Generals home games, the In-Arena host will be responsible for presenting in-game promotions and features, conducting interviews and adding to the overall excitement of the fan’s experience.

Description of Organization:

The Oshawa Generals Hockey Club is a member of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Canadian Hockey League. Established in 1937, the Oshawa Generals are an integral part of the Oshawa and Durham Region community.

The positive development of hockey players both on and off the ice is our focus, giving the players outstanding facilities and coaches to master their craft while being key members of the community. A winning attitude runs deep within the Generals organization having won 13 OHL Championships and 5 Memorial Cups.


Under the directions of the Manager of Game Operations, responsibilities include executing all in game promotions, working in a team environment, and creating an engaging fan atmosphere. Some other responsibilities include:

  • Attend all 34 Oshawa Generals home games which are frequently on evenings, weekends and holidays
  • In-arena Host/Emcee
  • Hyping up the crowd
  • Live on-camera interviews
  • Executing contests with fans and in-game promotions
  • Shooting promotional/marketing pieces as needed


  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to apply
  • Minimum of 1-2 years host/emcee experience required
  • Working knowledge of hockey rules and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to project your voice
  • Ability to perform in front of a large audiences
  • Can adjust and adapt quickly to situations
  • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment under pressure
  • Must be professional at all times
  • Ability to take direction and feedback
  • Flexible hours and available to work all home games including preseason and post season if applicable
  • Ability to host team events if applicable
  • Ability to stand on feet for 3-4 hours per game
  • All other duties as assigned

Note – Candidates will be asked to read off a script during the interview process to showcase their abilities, providing a demo reel is preferred
