Jacob Oster named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Oshawa, Ont., – After posting back-to-back shutouts this weekend, it’s no surprise that Jacob Oster has been named the OHL’s goaltender of the week.

In two games last weekend, Oster stopped all 49 shots he faced – including 19 against the Kingston Frontenacs on Friday and 30 against the central division-leading North Bay Battalion on Sunday. In those two games, Oster finished the weekend with a 2-0-0-0 record, 0.00 goals against average, and a perfect save percentage.

Oster earned second-star honours in both games.

Since joining the Generals via trade from the Guelph Storm earlier this month, Oster has found his magic once again between the pipes. In four games with Oshawa, Oster has posted a record of 3-1-0-0, a 1.00 goals-against average, and a 0.965 save percentageOster was Guelph’s fifth round (92nd overall) pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection from the Kemptville 73’s U18 program.
