GAME RECAP: GENS 5 PETES 2

In tonight’s game presented by State Farm the Oshawa Generals took on the Peterborough Petes for the third time this season. Last time they met in Oshawa for the Generals home opener, the Petes went home with a huge loss on their shoulders (4 – 1). Brodeur started in goal for your Generals and Wells for the Petes.

It only took the Gens 5 minutes in the first to open scoring on their rivals. Kenny Huether was assisted by Eric Henderson to get the puck past Wells and take the lead early on. The Petes came back to tie it up with C.J Clarke scoring on Brodeur, his goal assisted by Nick Isaacson. It only took Commisso two minutes to gain the lead back for the Petes! His goal scored on a power-play assisted by Vande Sompel and Cirelli.

2nd period

The second period started with the Gens leading the Petes in a fast paced game of hockey. Nerves were high as the Petes put the pressure on, looking for a goal. 7:42 into the period on a power-play Matthew Timms scored for the Petes to tie the game 2-2. Cirelli didn’t wait long to push back, at the 11:00 minute mark he deked out Wells to take the lead once more for his team. A 3-2 game wasn’t the end of the scoring tonight as the Generals kept them coming, Kenny Huether scored his second goal of the night and the season next. Huether’s goal was assisted by Riley Stillman at 19:26 in the second, making it a 4-2 game!

3rd period

The third and final period of the game was a nice insurance for the Generals. The Petes aggression only lead to penalties, and with a two man advantage Riley Stillman fired that puck past Wells to give the Gens a 3 goal lead!
