Game Preview: Gens Seek Revenge in Second Half of Home-and-Home Against Bulldogs at 6:05pm

The boys in white, red, and blue will be facing off against the Hamilton Bulldogs – for the second time in as many days – in the Tribute Communities Centre, tonight at 6:05pm. The Bulldogs took last night’s match 3-2 in a shootout. Tonight will feature another hard fought match between two teams loaded with offensive firepower.

Tonight will be our Hallowe’en Spooktacular – presented by the Real Canadian Superstore. We are encouraging you to wear a costume to tonight’s game! There will be a costume contest, a trick or treat trail (that’s right, free candy for those 14-and-under – while supplies last!!), bobbing for apples, a photo op with Deke and much, much more! It will be a night to remember!

Players to Watch; Oshawa

Kyle MacLean – The Generals’ captain had a stellar game on Saturday, recording 1 assist, +1, was 62.5% in the faceoff circle and fired 7 shots on goal. MacLean is a workhorse and leads by example. If last night’s game is any indication, MacLean is going to lead our boys to victory or die trying.

William Ennis – Ennis was given the award of Best Defensemen at the Generals’ year end awards banquet last season, and he has only gotten better. Now sporting the “A,” he’ll continue to exemplify smart defensive play. After a couple of weeks out of the lineup, Ennis has returned this weekend and played well. In last night’s game, he scored 1 goal and was a +2. Ennis is a rock defensively.

Players to Watch; Hamilton

Arthur Kaliyev – Kaliyev is the first OHL player to score 50 goals in his NHL draft year and fall out of the first round since Chicago Blackhawks 40-goal scorer Alex Debrincat. Kaliyev has been an offensive phenom for the Bulldogs this season. In 14 games, Kaliyev has a goal-per-game and 12 assists, for 26 points. He had been the league’s leading scorer in goals and points, but now sits in second and third respectively.

Ryan Winterton – Winterton is the younger brother of Generals’ forward Jacob Winterton. Ryan was the Bulldogs first-round selection (8th overall) in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. This will be the first time the Winterton brothers face off in an OHL game near their hometown of Whitby, so it will be fun to see the dynamic between the brothers on-ice. Ryan hasn’t looked out of place with the Bulldogs – having scored 2 goals in Friday’s bout against the Niagara Ice Dogs.
