Game Preview: Generals Seek Revenge for Last Weekends Loss Versus Wolves at 2:05pm

The Sudbury Wolves come to town at 2:05pm today. The Wolves will be looking to get back to their winning ways after a loss at the hands of the Ottawa 67s last night. That extends their losing streak to 3 games. Your Generals will also be looking to get back to winning after a tough loss to Erie on Friday.

Player to Watch; Oshawa

Ty Tullio – Tullio is showing scouts what he is all about in the lead up to this year’s NHL Draft. Initially slotted as a C-ranked prospect (4th to 6th Round) in October’s draft rankings, Tulzy has jumped to a B-ranked prospect (2nd to 3rd round) and it’s easy to see why. While Ty is a smaller player physically – 5’10” 166lbs – he plays a big game. Tullio has been particularly strong at going into the dirty areas and retrieving the puck for his teammates to benefit with a scoring chance. He also has a laserbeam of a shot – making him a dangerous offensive weapon.

William Ennis – The Generals Alternate captain has been a fixture on this team’s blueline for a few seasons now, and he’s only getting better. He specializes as a defensive defenseman, clearing the crease and throwing the body are no issue for Ennis. Last year’s Generals “Best Defenseman” has only gotten better. He’s been leading this blueline in a veteran role, anchoring that top pairing with Nico Gross being a reliable force. Most of Ennis’ brilliance doesn’t translate to the scoresheet, but his value to this franchise is integral.

Players to Watch; Sudbury

Quinton Byfield – Quinton Byfield is a name that you will need to get used to hearing in hockey circles. The 1st overall pick in the 2018 OHL Draft is slated to be selected in the Top 5 of this upcoming NHL Draft. He’s a big centreman –  6 feet, 4 inches – but still lean at 215 pounds. He brings a high skill game and has been pacing the OHL scoring this season currently having 46 points through his first 25 games. In his first 2 games against the Generals this season he has 2 goals and 2 assists – he’ll be dangerous today.

Chase Stillman – Stillman has stood out during his first OHL season. He played well at the World U17 Hockey Challenge, where he occasionally played on a line with Generals rookie Brett Harrison. The Wolves 2nd Round pick in the 2019 Draft has scored 8 goals and added 5 assists in his rookie campaign.
