World U17 Hockey Challenge Recap: Wong wins Silver with Canada Red
Generals rookies Mitchell Brewer and Nick Wong returned to Oshawa last night after spending the previous 10 days in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek British Columbia at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge, both participating with Hockey Canada.
Generals first rounder, Mitchell Brewer took to the ice with Canada White. He saw action in all 6 of the team’s games that lead them to the Bronze Medal match where they fell to the Czech Republic by a closer margin of 2-1 for a fourth-place tournament finish.

Generals second round selection Nick Wong suited up with Canada Red. He saw ice in Canada Red’s six games finishing the tournament with three goals and three assists for six points. He finished just outside top 10 in tournament scoring and was second in points for OHL players in the tournament. Canada Red made it to the Gold Medal game where they gave the US their biggest test of the tournament but could not get past the Americans to win the gold. Wong and Canada Red earned a silver medal finish and were the only Canadian team to reach the podium.
