Scott Laughton – Oshawa Generals – 6’0.25’’ 180 C – Ranked 28th by NHL Central Scouting

Laughton finished fifth in team scoring for the Generals producing 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points in 64 games along with 101 minutes in penalties which ranked third on the club.  From Oakville, ON, Laughton also won bronze with Canada’s Under-18 team at the 2012 World Championship setting up the overtime goal in the 5-4 win over Finland.

Generals GM Jeff Twohey says:  “Scott is a good combination of skill and grit, he competes hard at both ends of the ice and there are few players that work as hard as Scott, both offensively and defensively.  Scott is a quiet leader that other players look to for direction and has a winning pedigree at every level he has played at.  Scott will be an integral part of the Generals moving forward.”

Last season the Generals had five players selected in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft led by Nicklas Jensen chosen at 29, followed by second round picks Boone Jenner and Lucas Lessio.  2011 represented their best season at the draft since 10 players were chosen in 1995.
