Oshawa Generals Hire Nathan McIver as New Assistant Coach

July 18th, 2016

Oshawa, On- The Oshawa Generals are happy to announce the hiring of new Assistant Coach Nathan Mciver.

Nathan played 10 seasons of professional hockey as a defenceman with the Vancouver Canucks and Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League, the Manitoba Moose, Providence Bruins, Bridgepoint Sound Tigers, Hamilton Bulldogs and Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. Most recently he played in the British Elite Ice Hockey League with the Braehead Clan.

Nathan’s junior hockey career was spent with the St. Michael Major, where he was coached by Generals Head Coach Bob Jones.

“It’s an exciting time to be with the Generals organization as a fan, a player and a staff member. With that being said I would like to welcome Nathan McIver as the newest member of the coaching staff. Nathan will join Greg Nemisz and be reunited with Bob Jones. Bob coached Nathan in the OHL with St. Mikes Majors and always made mention of his work ethic and willingness to learn as a player and that will translate over to Nathans coaching. Nathan brings a number of years playing defence in the NHL and the AHL and will be a great resource for our defenceman.” Said Roger Hunt Vice President and General Manager of the Oshawa Generals.
