Job Opportunity: Music Coordinator

Position: Game Day Music Coordinator (PT)


The Oshawa Generals are currently seeking a part time Game Day Music Coordinator. The position provides a fantastic opportunity to entertain fans through music and sound effects and to learn about the operations of a professional sports team by working all home games.


The position will report directly to the Manager of Game Operations and is responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Selecting and playing music during pre-game, stoppages of play and intermissions to build an energetic atmosphere and increase the enthusiasm of the fans
  • Enhance promotions and game experience with music choices, sound effects, cheers, and chants as they relate to fan base
  • Develop and select the music tracks and playlists
  • Coordinate appropriate music with promotions, scoreboard graphics and various situations throughout the game
  • Stay up to date with popular music tracks/trends
  • Regulate volume level and sound quality during the games
  • Help find, gather, and install appropriate music and sound clips to the music library on a regular basis
  • Feed off the crowd and get the crowd involved with events of the venue for increased entertainment value
  • Control volume for sponsor advertisements
  • Any other duties assigned by the Manager of Game Operations

Requirements and Qualification:

  • Available to work all 34 Oshawa Generals Home Games for the 2018/2019 season schedule including playoffs (Sept-May)
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Arriving 2-3 hours before the game to control music for Kids pre-games
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Windows 10 operating system and Disc Jockey software including but not limited to Sports Sound Pro/Virtual DJ/Audacity
  • Must be able to excel with the provided software and equipment for the position
  • Experience handling┬áprofessional audio equipment including: microphones, A/V cables, mixing board, patch panels, amplifiers etc.
  • Must have a strong understanding of in-game hockey music, situational scenarios
  • Vast knowledge of different music genres and ability to separate personal music tastes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and take direction
  • Knowledge of hockey
  • Audio/Music Production studies is an asset
