Oshawa, ON- The Generals continue to build toward the future as the team has traded Forward Anthony Cirelli to the Erie Otters in exchange for Forward Allan McShane and draft picks.
Anthony shot to stardom as a General by scoring some huge goals, becoming a Memorial Cup hero, playing for Team Canada at the World Juniors and wearing the ‘C’ for the Generals.
“For my two and half years knowing Anthony and his family, the Otters are getting an absolute gem of a player and person. He is a proven winner and will be a huge player out of our line up” says Vice President and General Manager Roger Hunt, “but with every move like this you are saying goodbye to a player but are extremely excited about welcoming Allan McShane to the Generals. It will be no short of an introduction to what it means to be an Oshawa Generals when McShane plays his first game Thursday vs. the Petes.”
In return, the Generals also receive:
2 x 2nd
1 x 4th
1 x 2nd Cond.
1 x 6th Cond.
McShane is having a stellar rookie season so far recording 7 G and 16 A for 23 points in 33 GP this season. He will be a welcome addition to the Generals line up.
We want to thank Anthony for his efforts and dedication as he leaves the Generals and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavours.
