The Generals return home tonight to the Tribute Communities Centre for Game 3 of their second-round series against the Niagara IceDogs. After starting off the series strong but just coming up short with an overtime loss, the Gens have fallen down 2-0 behind the IceDogs who claimed their two home games. With Oshawa getting their back-to-back contests at home for Games 3 and 4, the Gens will look to get back into the series as the IceDogs arrive to town tonight.

After advancing to the second round with their 4-1 series win in Round One over the Petes, the Gens have gotten off to a tough start in the opening games of Round Two. Playing both in Niagara, the Gens came close to grabbing a win in Game 1 but just fell short in a 3-2 overtime loss to the IceDogs, as well as in Game 2 after losing 5-1. With the series returning to Oshawa tonight, the Gens will look to take advantage of the hometown crowd behind them and pick up their first win of the series.

One of Oshawa’s best players and a huge factor in every game so far this post-season is Gens goaltender Kyle Keyser. The net minder posted an amazing 1.81 goals-against average and a 0.948 save percentage in Round One, and has continued to impress to start Round Two. Keyser has made an incredible 84 saves already through Games 1 and 2 against the IceDogs and helped give the Gens a strong chance in each contest. With the hot goaltender behind them, the Gens will look to limit Niagara’s offence tonight and keep them off the board in Game 3.

A couple of Generals players to keep an eye in tonight’s game include Brandon Saigeon and Allan McShane. Tied for the team lead in points so far in the playoffs, Saigeon tallied a goal in Game 1 to improve his point total to 8 points through 7 games. McShane has also continued to find the back of the net after burying a goal in Game 2 to notch his third of the post-season. Look out for the two forwards tonight as they aim to get the offense going for the Gens and break through Niagara’s defense.

Head to the Tribute Communities Centre tonight for the 7:05pm puck drop to cheer on the Gens as they lace up for Game 3 against the IceDogs! Also, join us before the game tonight for a pre-game party with music, food and The Rock truck at Gate 1 starting at 5pm! After tonight’s game, the team will remain at home to battle Niagara again in Game 4 on Thursday at 7:05pm!
