The Generals return home tonight from their northern road trip to take on the North Bay Battalion at the Tribute Communities Centre. Splitting last weekend with a win and a loss, the Gens head into the game with a 39-19-4-0 record on the season. With an 8-1-1-0 record in their last 10 games, Oshawa will look to continue their winning ways with a two-point effort tonight against the Battalion.
Tonight’s meeting with North Bay marks the fourth and final time the Gens will go up against the Battalion this season. So far in the season series, Oshawa has seen success and tons of offense with a 2-1-0-0 record and 16 goals in the three games combined. In the final game between these two teams tonight, the Gens will look to keep up their high-scoring trend and take the season series with a win at home.
Coming off their recent eight-game winning streak, the Gens have racked up the points down the stretch and have 82 points in 62 games on the season. They currently hold fourth place in the eastern conference and second in their division. Meanwhile, the North Bay Battalion sit near the bottom of the east, currently in eighth place with a season record of 27-30-3-2 and 59 points.
Two Gens forwards to keep an eye on in tonight’s game include Brett Neumann and Anthony Salinitri. Neumann had a great weekend up north against the Greyhounds and Wolves, scoring in both games and tallying an assist for 3 points over the weekend. With Neumann now added to the 40-goal club, expect him to continue to be a key piece of Oshawa’s offense tonight and down the stretch. Salinitri has also continued to put up points recently as he rides a 4-game point streak with 6 points over that span. The forward also potted a goal and added an assist for a multi-point night the last time Oshawa played North Bay, so look for Salinitri to aim for the same result in tonight’s contest.
At tonight’s game, Halenda’s is hosting a Chuck A Puck in support of United Way! Pucks will be available for purchase in sections 116 and 106. You can get 1 puck for $2 or 3 for $5.
Join us at the Tribute Communities Centre tonight for the 7:35pm puck drop to cheer on the Gens as they battle the North Bay Battalion! After tonight, the team will travel to Ottawa for a Saturday night matchup with the 67’s before taking them on again at home on Sunday evening.
