The Oshawa Generals battle the Owen Sound Attack tonight at the Tribute Communities Centre. The Gens head into the game with a record of 8-5-2-0 after falling last night in overtime to the rival Peterborough Petes on the road. The team will look to grab a big two points against Owen Sound tonight and start off their weekend at home on the right foot.
Tonight’s game will mark the second time the Gens take on the Attack this season. The two teams met for the first time in early October in Owen Sound, where the Attack came away with a 4-2 victory over Oshawa. The Gens have had a strong stretch throughout their last 7 games, putting up a record of 5-1-1-0 in that span. Currently sitting in sixth in the eastern conference, the Gens will look to keep piling on points and get their revenge against the Attack tonight at home.
Several Gens are on hot streaks right now, and at the top of the list is Jack Studnicka. Prior to yesterday’s game against Peterborough, the captain was on a 7-game point streak, amassing 10 points over that period. Sitting in the lead on the Gens in points, Studnicka will aim to keep adding to his impressive 18-point total tonight against Owen Sound and be a key contributor to the team’s offense. Kyle MacLean is another player putting on an impressive performance lately, potting 4 goals in his last 4 games. With 12 points in 16 games, MacLean has been an important contributor up front and will look to continue that trend tonight.
A couple of notable performances from last night’s close contest against the Petes include the newest Gens addition Kyle Bollers scoring his first goal with the team in his first shift. After being acquired on Monday from the Saginaw Spirit, the forward has made quite the first impression in Oshawa. Kyle Keyser also had an incredible game, saving 48 of 51 shots from the Petes including a few highlight reel stops.
Come join us at the Tribute Communities Centre for tonight’s game at 7:35pm and cheer on the Gens as they take on the Owen Sound Attack! After tonight’s game, the team will finish off their weekend at home by battling the Barrie Colts on Sunday.
