The Oshawa Generals kick off Super Bowl Sunday with an afternoon tilt against the reigning Memorial Cup Champions, the Windsor Spitfires. This is the first and final time the Spitfires will visit Oshawa this season and the Gens will be searching to even the season series after Windsor took victory in their first meeting in early December.

While the Generals are wrapping up a three in three schedule, the Spitfires are playing their third game in four days. With less than 20 games remaining in the regular season, both teams will be vying to secure their playoff positioning in their respective conferences. Oshawa currently holds the sixth position in the Eastern Conference and is trying to work toward home-ice advantage. On the opposing side, Windsor holds the eighth seed in the Western Conference with room to climb up the standings. The Generals have a 7-8-1-0 record in interconference matchups this season while the Spitfires hold an 8-5-0-1 record. As the Generals look to improve their record against interconference opponents, they will try to do so against a team that struggled through the month of January going 4-7-0-1 and are currently riding a five-game losing streak.
