The Oshawa Generals play host to their rivals the Peterborough Petes tonight. So far this season the Petes lead 4-3 and coach Bob Jones would like to see his team even the series out with a four point swing as well and revenge for the 7-1 loss in their last meeting. The Generals have had the Petes number over the last five years taking 28 of the 41 meetings with 15 of those coming on home ice, but after Thursday night the Petes hold the Eastern Division title this season.

In yesterday afternoon’s game in the nation’s capital the Generals fell to the 67’s 5-2. Ottawa had just clinched a playoff spot, and with Peterborough taking the division title this was a no out come game for the Generals, other then the fact that the 67’s could be a possible round 1 play off opponent for the Generals. Although Ottawa dominated the game, Oshawa gained momentum during the final period and started a come back that would be put to an end by the 67’s.

Earlier in the week the Generals clinched home ice for the playoffs and will be looking to grab another win as they build momentum for a playoff push. With the regular season coming to a close Domenic Commisso has had a breakout season in his 3rd season with the Generals setting career highs in every category while also surpassing the 100 point mark for his OHL career. Medric Mercier has found his way in Oshawa since being acquired from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds earlier in the year, smashing his previous career highs in almost every category while scoring more goals this season with the Gens than his all his time with the Greyhounds. Jeremy Brodeur has put up career bests in wins and save percentage with two more shutouts this season to put him in the Oshawa history books as one of the best goaltenders to come put on a Generals jersey.

Tonight’s game night sponsor for the final 80th Anniversary night in Oshawa is Trios College! Tonight is also the final game of the regular season and will feature special guests and a special giveaway for fans!
