GAME DAY: GENS VS FRONTENACS
Tonight, the Oshawa Generals welcome division rival Kingston Frontenacs to town for their fifth meeting in eleven games. The Fronts were victorious in the previous two meetings between the clubs and the Gens will be searching for some redemption after being outscored 11-2.
After dropping a tough one in Kingston last Friday, the Generals rebounded with back-to-back dominating victories against the Petes and Spitfires. The Gens offence exploded for 14 goals in two games with contributions from nine different players. Oshawa will look to continue their red-hot offence against a divisional foe who has had their number so far this season. The Frontenacs could prove to be a challenge as they have won five straight games outscoring their opponents 23-9 over that span. A key to victory is to get on the scoreboard first. When scoring first the Gens are 19-4 and are nearly unbeatable on home ice with a 13-2 record. Meanwhile, the Fronts have a 21-9 record when they tally first and are 8-6 on the road. With an important two points on the line, the Generals will seek to snap Kingston’s win streak while going for their third straight victory.
