This afternoon the Oshawa Generals will take on the Owen Sound Attack for the final time this regular season as they try to earn the series split. The Gens dropped a tough one in the first meeting of the season but will look to continue to their impressive play as of late to get back in the win column.

While the Generals had a well-deserved day off, the Attack were in action against the Kitchener Rangers yesterday afternoon. Although the Gens had their six-game win streak snapped by Sault Ste Marie on Friday night, the boys secured a valuable point to put them within a couple points of second place in the East Division. Thanks to their win streak, Oshawa jumped to fifth place in the Eastern Conference putting them firmly in the mix for playoff contention. The month of January has the second-most home games for the Gens this season, so they will look to make the most of playing in front of their home crowd as they try to secure their standing in the Eastern Conference. On Friday night, the Generals welcomed rookie defenceman Nico Gross back into the lineup as he returned from competing with Team Switzerland at the 2018 World Junior Championship. Gross made an immediate impact scoring the game-tying goal midway through the third period allowing the Gens to walk away with at least a point. Even though the win streak came to an end, there is still a point streak on the line and Oshawa will try and take advantage of a tired and struggling Attack squad.

This afternoon’s game day sponsor is Meridian! Make sure to visit their table on the concourse today for a chance win a team signed jersey.

Buffalo Wild Wing Charity Dinner tickets are on sale with a limited number of tickets still available for the event. The Gens will host fans for dinner as their celebrity servers. Proceeds from the evening go to United Way of Durham Region. Get your tickets at Fan Services for $10!
