Oshawa Generals announce the signing of Ty Tullio
Oshawa, ON– The Oshawa Generals announced today that forward Ty Tullio has committed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the Hockey Club.
“It’s a great feeling to be signed by such first-class organization like the Generals” said Tullio after committing to the team. “I have seen many successful players come through this organization growing up and I know my time here will help me develop and grow as a player as I take my game to the next level.”
“I was ecstatic when my name was called” said Tullio of being taken by the Generals. “Being surrounded by my family and the excitement that went along with that, it’s a moment I’ll never forget.”
The 16-year-old, Lakeshore, ON native was the first round, 11th overall pick by the Gens in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. He was a member of the GTHL Vaughan Kings during the 2017-18 season where he tallied 38 goals and 51 assists for 89 points in 50 games played.
Tullio participated in the OHL Cup last month where he notched five goals and five assists in seven games with the Vaughan Kings, where the team made it to the Championship final.
“To get Ty committed to our Club is a wonderful day for our organization” said Vice President and General Manager, Roger Hunt. “Ty is a unique situation where he has grown up around the team and been around this facility since he’s was five years old. Over the years, he has seen some great players come through this organization, watched the team win a Memorial Cup and seen the successes we’ve had as an organization. It’s already engrained in him what it means to be an Oshawa General.”
